Installation precautions for exhaust pipe gaskets:
1. Improper installation. After the inlet pipe of the muffler is inserted into the round cushion of the exhaust pipe, it is inserted into the inner end of the exhaust pipe interface and then pressed with the flange and fixed with two bolts. Due to the gap between the two, if the pressure is not tight or the bolt is loose, the high temperature and high pressure exhaust gas will flow down the gap, directly to the round pad, resulting in the heat distortion of the exhaust flange. It is easy to be ablated and damaged by this high temperature and high pressure exhaust gas.
2. Loose connection bolts. Car when driving, bumps and vibration causes muffler clamp in horse hanger bolt, nut and other connection is loose and fall off, causing the exhaust outlet of two fixed bolt is loose. In this case, due to the pressure of the exhaust pipe flange is not tight, the seal is not strict, and the impact of the exhaust flow is increased, which is easy to make the round cushion ablation.
3. The plane of the exhaust pipe is uneven. If the lining of the exhaust pipe is not smooth, and there are a lot of impurities, it is easy to cause the bolt to be fastened. At this point, the end face of the interface has a trace air gap, the seal is not strict, under the impact of the exhaust flow to make the round pad burn.
When installing a new piece, first remove the impurities in the lining of the exhaust pipe, and add a new pad (that is, a new one and an old one) on the original round mat. After driving about 200km, tighten the bolts to avoid loosening, and check the fastening nuts of the muffler in each connection position. Otherwise, will cause the interface round cushion bolt to loosen, make round gasket seal failure again leak gas.
